We look at the current series for taking the levels and when the current series hits those levels, take positions in next month futures.
The SAR we had was 4527, so any close above that will mean EOD reversal. We do not take filter into account for this purpose.

i think no eod reversal as near by pivot high(4532) so reversal on breach of that pivot with filter,

Stuck in a tight range. EOD reversal looks very much a possibility , as of now NF (Aug) has already reached the pivot level…. but one should wait for 3.25 pm or so ,right?

Extremely sorry… Yes EOD reversal applicable today.

NOt Applicable only in cases if the add is not on break of a subsequent pivot.

It seems that you have clicked the option Start Watching site tradersaint.com
Click on the down arrow on right side top next to "My account" , under that watching, unclick whatever needs to be unclicked.
Or, At the bottom of the page, click on Stop watching site tradersaint.com.
There is a link in every email too to disable it. That will take care of your problem.

that is tricky…i would personally consider EOD reversal…that is all i can say….but the question is whether to consider 4505 as a EOD reversal pivot or 4525 :)

This happens in fast markets if you specify a price. It is therefore best to place a Stop Loss Triggered Market Order.

It is not academic. Now see - can you see a lower PL forming. This is one of the rare cases where a lower PL is formed without taking out the SAR i.e., the filter saved us. So shift SAR to this lower PL.

Sorry to go on but trying to clear my confusion-

1. Today's gap was not a visual gap though it was against our trade.

2. Both the open as well as the candle were not beyond existing pivots.

3. We had a discussion about gaps earlier (15.07.09, see above) when Satya put up a chart to distinguish between different types of visual gaps.

Today we have a gap against us but it is not beyond our pivots as I understand it. Maybe I am wrong? In fact by now this is becoming academic as the market has moved up, but some clarity will be helpful in future.

Trying to understand….. today's opening bar made a low below our SAR, but the open price was not lower. So, I think SAR at yesterday's low, right?

Satya's post above also hints at breach of TL/Support as the operating factor.

Did not shift SAR to yesterday's low was because after yesterday's low, we did not make a new high (PH). And we wait for new highs to make sure that we are not caught by the flag kind of formation.

Hello Bee, Satya,

Like all relative newcomers, I am also often confused about shifting (or not shifting) the SARs. Yesterday, we made a new PH at 12 noon, then a PL at 2 pm, followed by a new, though lower PH at 3 pm. This morning's opening bar has the same high.

When we have a PL followed by a new high, how do we decide whether or not to move our SAR to the latest PL? Can someone please clarify so that this becomes second nature to us.

Agreed Puneet - but the difference in two SARs is very less. After more than 8 hours, NF is going to move sharply anyways and take out even the friday low SAR - that is what I wanted to convey.

Would wait for 1-2 more bars to move it to ydays low. Till then keeping at 24th low only.

Bee…a slow market can jerk it both ways…so better to give some more leeway for being doubly sure.

More than 8 hours of sideways movement. Wonder why we have not moved our SAR to yesterday's low? If market falls now it will take out even friday's low. So no point in giving up these points. My view. Plus the WW I posted is scary.
