Trading With The Flow!!!

Hi,

Since nobody seems to have paid attention to this section hence starting a Daily Flow for currency Futures here.

The method remains the same, follow the Pivots, we keep our stops below Pivot lows + filter in an Uptrend and add above the Pivot highs we get subsequent to New Pivot lows and once the Pivot Low breaks we are short

We would be using 0.3 as a Filter here.

Since I do not have access to NSE Futures charts so will be posting levels according to Spot Prices only

again i know you must have noticed some regular pattern in nifty and other stocks in 10 min .30 min 60 min and daily time frame requesting you to start some thread at developing patterns section or somewhere appropriate section

Frankly speaking Satya, I am no such a good reader of patterns so no luck over there. I have seen MJ and you discussing 10 min. charts, I myself am trying to follow it, may be something will pop-out itself

Fantastic Prabh, Spo0ke to my broker, nse futures lot size etc…quite affordable. Need to find a data source though.
Will be avidly looking at the thread, so much to learn from you.

We can actually Position size very well as the Lots are much smaller plus the added advantage of smoothly flowing charts.

I am thinking of taking Daily Trades only in Direction of Weeklies, what do you people suggest

Trading the weekly charts itself seems much easier in Re$. Have a look…weekly chart last 3 years….:

Weekly charts look really clean Puneet, but the only problem is that I cannot wait for a whole week for a week to have just a single bar on chart, that would be a torture for me

Prabhheet…there is some problem somewhere.

Even I would want to trade it in daily charts, but the data Im getting puts up a horrendous daily chart..very different from what what you posted. Also after cross-checking if you find that your data is correct, please let me know the source.

Can you please tell which broker is offering currency futures for trading to retail trader? What is the margin required? Guess the contract size is for USD1000/-.

Are you actually trading this or on paper trade mode yet?

PS: I ask this because I got one email from NSE urging me to trade in INR/USD futures. I was under the impression that this was only for institutions and banks for their foreign currency exposure hedging and not for retail traders' trading.

I have an account with Indiabulls, they charge minimal RS. 250 + some paper signing to start the currency account. The margin is very very low, my broker was charging just 1%.

I had started trading in Currencies but as my Broker does not have any Trading Terminal so it was becoming a real Pain to get my orders across by phone. I had to make a STD call and that too minimum 10- 15 min. long so I have given up trading $ rt. now, will look to enter when we have more organised markets in India.

And yes, its perfectly legal, you can trade in either NSE or MCX

1% margin for USD 1000 contract lot!!!! WoW. What leverage!!! We need only Rs 500 to play one contract. Then what are we doing playing commodities and NF??

Margin requirements do not make any change in our scheme of things Bee, all that we see is how far our stops are, if MM doesn't permit than whats the use whether the margin is 1% or 0.1%, I hope you understand what I am trying to say

The lower margin is a Bait there……dont fall for it.

Merits/demerits of whether you trade currency or anything shd lie in the smoothness of its flow..liquidity..and the ability to stomach the normal stops*lot sizes.

Margin….shd not be a big problem anyways for a technical trader like you. MM shd be the guiding light in everything

But as we have many securities to play and at an exploratory stage with very limited capital, we can try this without unduly stretching our resources. All we have to take care is max MTM losses has to be put in at the beginning.

We are anyway not going to go in for full blast trading without first giving it a try on one lot. That is what I meant. At least my resources are stretched at this point of time so I am thinking on those lines.

Pitfalls of high leverage, MM and MTM are all known to me having learned the hard way.
