If one is under-capitalised then never trade any method. First get capitalised enough, that's too a part of any trading method.
Mini-flow can kill you slowly and Ambush can kill you fast if worst happens.
More over under capitalisation means taking more risk per trade that will probably burst your money management. So I will strongly appeal for trading halt.

Very true,Hari………having a sufficient capital is vital.This thread is an example………although 5L only was being utilised and grown by 2 traders; Trader A who has only that 5L capital and if that is lost,he is bust……and Trader B has a capital of 50L and has decided to use 5L to trade this thread.Trader B trades it to perfection ….Trader A runs scared of a trade,especially after a loss.Trader B takes his stops and lets his profits run…..Trader A is petrified to take his stops and want fast profits.

Both are utilising 5L for this method…….but they are 2 different mindsets at play.And at the end of the month,2 traders with the same capital end up with different gains/losses.

So Gospel Truth from TFL(Hari) there……….if undercapitalised,be careful of all methods,Trading itself.

Please post your trades with SL/SAR for 3/8/9 whenever you can find time.

But even with the 5L that we have,it is enough to attack the markets…….probably not as good as a greater capital,but enough to ambush the markets with.With a very small capital(at least 5L),ambush is the best way out……..

Now that we have more than 11L with us…….introducing TATASTEEL into the fray.

6L capital for Bank Nf…..rest for TATASTEEL.

Though I am not having sufficient capital to trade Ambush or any other method but got tempted seeing Saint Sir's performance in Ambush. Thanks for warning. But its good time to learn Ambush and all other methods while trading miniflow so that after having sufficient capital I can attack. Till then paper trading and learning continues……

Raising the stop for this BNF long entry to 7661-f seems like a bargain. Such strong breakout should not be reversed so much. If it does then the 5 min PL of 7637.5 will easily be taken out as it is small/weak since there is little volume there.

In short, does raising the stop to 7661-f seems alright?

That would probably be because the prices never really went far from that PL. In other words, the trend is given enough 'breathing' space by keeping the stop at 11.50 low. Else it would be very tight without any need for it.

However, regarding the add I would agree with you. Becasue after the add the market did not behave as we have expected it to. Instead of going up well, it consolidated.

I now see why Saint did not opt for shorting yesterday.

It is supremely annoying to be stopped out by 1 tick!
I really wish I could reduce such bad trades. I have tried a few ways, they worked well but the drawback was slippage, and sometimes significant.

My observations for Tata Steel: Support/Resistance on 60 min at 470, Bear flag on 5min and possible WW on 30 and 60 with target around 420. Can someone please validate?

A succesful break of 7644 will give us a breakout failure of yesterdays hourly PL break. So, longs are good.

I am long over 7644+f. Yesterdays 5 min PH.

On the flip side, shorting below 7570 at a 5 min PL formation seems okay. Seniors pls comment.

view 1) To reverse to long, a break of HOD would be best, since it is the next strong resistance.

view 2) Alternatively, break of 11.10 pivot would falsify this hourly pl break. But then it will still have to cross the HOD, a strong resistance, to gather any mileage.

Therefore, I am cozy with view 1). Seniors pls throw light on an appropriate level to go long over.

Very important for us to come to the realisation that SOH is as important for us traders as trading a trend……As said,profits are easy to make.Maximising the gains is also easy stuff,but when to SOH…..ah,that's what will eventually separate the best from the rest.

Well Said Saint Sir. As of now havn't found a way to stay away from certain trades like you do, but slowly, as time and I as a trader grow it will happen.
We have seen exactly what you mean by maximizing profits, few trades can send us on a holiday for the rest of the week or month, hope we can execute trades as cleanly as you do.

By SOH do you mean that when the 5 min pivot break is not in line with the hourly trend one just let it by… SOH. Aside from that, if our target has been more than fulfilled then taking a few days off is also a good reason to SOH.

From what I understand thus far, we want to take the initial trade with the expectation that the market has sufficient space to move and hence will give me an add or two to make. This happens when we our entries are aligned with hourly.

In that light, 13.00 hourly pivot was not place where I would enter and expect to make successful adds. Yes, the initial position has a decent scope, but not the adds. Hourly is still ticking down till HOD is crossed.

In short, the idea is to have stops in 5 min and ride the hourly. :)

A very sound trade. It had a decent scope for 1:2.

However, the point is what method is one trading? The flow way? Then as per flow way, we trade with hourly.

so have as many points on your side as possible like long trades only above hourly PH,yesterdays close,todays open etc, it will give better trades and less tension…

Yes Amit agreed…….but the reversal what I was talking about in line with hourly PH break which preceded by good indications of reversal (patterns /TFA/ volumes…) .So may be we can say that aggressive one. with good R:R But as far as flow method considered you are absolutely right.

I started watching ambush trades just 2-3 days back. I want to ask to seniors ..can't we take such reversal trades ( in Ambush) when all factors are supporting reversal ?

There is difference between the way flow and ambush trades are taken…flow trades are like catching a bus on 1st or 2nd stop….and alight at 9th or 10 th stop…ambush is like board the bus at 4th stop after it has taken good speed and alight at 8th stop before it slows down….

Basically,
Trade the first pivot break in ANY direction the first hour.
Trade when 30/60 put up a reversal bar. So topping tail on 30, low being 166, short the pivot below or at 166.
Breakdown/out failure on 30, trade the 5min pivots
5min pattern trade

So to answer your question Tisco was shorted because it was the first pivot break before 11am

So take first 5 min pivot in any direction till 11 a.m. … then if stopped out, look to stick with hourly trend. In addition, if TFA indicates that the trend is going to change then we take that signal as well….

Manoj at that time after 10:10 pl , 10:00 bar(hod) was good place for long entry and before
long entry there was also lph(10:25 bar) for more confirmation so i took long entry above 10:00 bar+f.

I have learned differently. I think Saint, ST sir, MJ, they enter over the first 5 min pivot in whichever direction. If stopped out, then they trade only in the direction of hourly unless there is some solid pattern/tfa/BOF or a TL break etc.

Pls correct my view. Pls PM me if you feel our conversation is taking up space.

MJ's, in one of his recent posts, said to make your own method (should included important things like adds and proper exits). Thats ambush. I concluded that, if I am doing it corrently then I will, eventually, end-up trading like Saint :)

After a WRB,mkt came up almost 60 points…also after long legged doji of 11:15 mkt did not go down….not good signs for short positions….so take whatever profits we can and close the position.
No point in loosing 30 points in stoploss,when the mkt action is not right…

BNF 7380-85 is resistance zone. 5 min formed higher pl. 15 min forming ascending triangle and 30 min two green candle so far. Is it sufficient for TFA. Should we go long 7385+f or not?

I may be wrong and you have vast experience in trading. After the WRB (BNF) the bullish bars were smallish and limping and after that a doji. This dozi signifies an end to the previous immediate trend i.e., last 3 bullish bars will now turn bearish either immediately after the dozi or after one or two bars (I will put up an interesting passage on gravestone doji and dragonfly doji for ambush traders to track first and then trade, if they like the idea).

Plus a strong downtrend on 60 min also indicates some patience in holding shorts. My views.

We all trade our views,dont we ? After a WRB mkt retracing almost 95 % of that WRB…pretty bad sign for shorts….I had seen the long legged doji…after doji,mkt remained there and did not crack….upto 11:55 it was looking as if mkt is making a higher bottom and going up…..and hence that decision was right that time… now what mkt does is something different,for me a scratch trade is much better than a loss if I sense trouble,I am the first one to run…

Agreed ST — you are a master trader. Just wanted to point out the logic which I trade also on 5 min TF. Now coming to Doji's and reversals which a few have indicated their interest to read and was also the basis of my post here. It was not a reflection in any way of your trade.

A dozi can be classified in three categories 1. perfect dozi where opening and closing are exactly at the middle (50%) of hi and lo. 2. This category is where the opening and closing is at lower one third of hi and lo. 3. Last is when it is at the upper one third of Hi and lo of the dozi bar.

Now whenever you encounter dozi of the type 2 and 3 or hammers of this type in a trend then 85% of the time immediate preceding trend will change direction in next upto 5 bars.

I have observed this many times and very rarely it fails. You may check this out yourself by eyeballing the charts. Please note if you are seeing 5 min TF then next bars should also be of 5 min i.e., TF integrity has to be maintained.

Traders short in BNF must have taken 1-2 adds…keep trailing profit taking levels…else position becomes bottomheavy and unprofitable…

Manoj 7286 not 4286 that was my typing mistake and now i have corrected it.
No particular reason manoj only when price went below 7300 third time then i booked.

Fantastic day on BNF. Unilateral fall day. Not a single major visual 5 min pivot violated - if some one trailed SL at one pivot behind (not immediate last one but one before that) then it is all a matter of holding one's nerve.
